By the Decree of the Head of State, Nurlybek Mashbekuly Nalibayev has been appointed as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Akorda Press Service reports that the President has concurrently relieved him of his duties as the Akim (Governor) of the Kyzylorda Region.

This strategic reshuffle within the Government follows the transition of Roman Sklyar, who previously held the post of First Deputy Prime Minister, to his new role as the Head of the Presidential Administration.

Professional Background:

Nurlybek Nalibayev was born in 1976 in the Kyzylorda Region. He is an alumnus of the Kazakh State Agrarian University and the Kazakh Humanitarian Law University.

His professional career commenced in 1997 within the oil and gas sector. Over the past two decades, he has built an extensive track record in public administration:

• 2013–2021: Served as the Akim (Mayor) of Kyzylorda City.

• 2021–2022: Head of the Regional Development Division of the Prime Minister’s Office.

• 2022–Present: Served as the Akim (Governor) of the Kyzylorda Region until his current elevation to the national Cabinet.

This appointment underscores the government's focus on integrating experienced regional leaders into the central executive branch to drive national strategic initiatives.
