Evgeniy Kochetov, the Vice-Minister of Culture and Information, has expressed the opinion that the date of Constitution Day may no longer fall on August 30. He described this potential shift as a logical step.

However, changing the date of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan is currently considered premature. Any such change depends on the completion of the ministry commission's work and the adoption of formal political and legal decisions.

Currently, a state commission is working on the draft of a new Constitution, which was established by presidential decree on January 21, 2026. This process will be followed by a nationwide referendum. Discussions regarding official holidays can only begin once this entire process is concluded.

Traditionally, Constitution Day in Kazakhstan is celebrated annually on August 30. This public holiday was established following a national referendum in 1995 and is a non-working day.
