Thai authorities are considering a revision of visa-free stay durations for citizens of 93 countries, including Kazakhstan, according to a report by the Bangkok Post.

Under the proposed regulations, the period of visa-free entry for foreigners will be reduced from 60 days to 30 days.
Reason for the Change

The government is taking this step to combat "shadow business" operations within the country. Official data suggests that some foreign nationals have been exploiting the current liberal visa rules to engage in illegal entrepreneurial activities.
Despite the reduction, Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism remains confident that the change will not significantly impact genuine vacationers.

"Foreign tourists stay in Thailand for an average of no more than 21 days. If they require more than 30 days, they can apply for an extension. It is not a complicated process," ministry officials explained.

As of today, the 60-day visa-free regime for citizens of Kazakhstan remains in effect. However, travelers must fulfill the following mandatory requirements before their trip:

  • Passport Validity: Must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of departure from Thailand.
  • Digital Arrival Card: Travelers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) 72 hours prior to arrival.
  • Supporting Documents: A confirmed return flight ticket and hotel reservation are mandatory.
