The Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) has officially confirmed the appointment of Talgat Baysufinov as the head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team. This decision comes as a follow-up to his successful stint as interim manager in 2025, during which he proved his ability to lead the squad at the highest level.

During his temporary tenure last year, Baysufinov guided the national team through a critical phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. His leadership was marked by impressive results on the pitch, including a dominant 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein and two resilient 1-1 draws against formidable European opponents, Belgium and North Macedonia. These performances revitalized fan support and demonstrated a tactical maturity within the squad.

This appointment marks Baysufinov's third permanent spell in charge of the national team, having previously held the position during the 2016–2017 and 2020–2022 cycles. Beyond the international stage, he possesses an extensive coaching pedigree at the club level. Throughout his career, he has managed several prominent domestic teams, including Irtysh (Pavlodar), Aksu, Akzhayik (Uralsk), and Esil-Bogatyr (Petropavlovsk), and has also contributed to the development of the nation's talent through his work with the Kazakhstan U21 squad.

A former professional footballer himself, Baysufinov boasts a career that included appearances for clubs such as Irtysh, Metallurg, Zhetysu, and Vostok. His deep understanding of the local football landscape is seen as a key asset as the Federation looks toward a new era of growth. With this permanent appointment, both the KFF and the fans are hopeful that Baysufinov’s experience will propel Kazakhstan to new heights in the remaining World Cup qualification matches.
