Student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School Falls from the Third Floor

An 18-year-old student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS) of Physics and Mathematics in Petropavlovsk fell from a third-floor window. The educational institution confirmed this information, as reported by informburo.kz.

The incident occurred on February 17. The teenager fell from the third floor and sustained severe injuries. Emergency services arrived promptly and transported the student directly to the Multi-profile City Hospital.

According to doctors, the patient complained of severe pain in the lumbar spine and both heels.

The Regional Health Department reported that the student underwent a comprehensive examination and was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit. He was given an initial diagnosis of multiple traumas, including:

• A closed Grade III compression fracture of the second lumbar vertebra;
• Closed fractures of both heel bones.

"The patient's condition is assessed as stable but serious. He has currently been transferred from the intensive care unit to the traumatology department. All necessary therapeutic and diagnostic measures are being carried out," the official statement read.

The school administration has not yet clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident. Currently, relevant authorities have launched an investigation to determine what triggered the fall from the window. Whether the incident was an accident or due to other factors will be established following the conclusion of the investigation.
