The military situation in the Middle East has sharply deteriorated over the past week, as the "targeted" strikes by the U.S. and Israel against Iran have evolved into a massive regional war. On the night of March 6, 2026, allied forces utilized B-2 strategic stealth bombers to launch another wave of devastating attacks on Iranian missile silos and military production facilities.

The conflict, which began on February 28 with Israel's "Roar of the Lion" and the U.S.'s "Epic Fury" operations, disabled nearly 200 Iranian air defense systems within the first 24 hours. Unconfirmed reports suggest that these strikes resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several high-ranking military commanders.

According to The Associated Press (AP), Israel launched a fresh wave of strikes today across Iranian territory, including the capital, Tehran. In retaliation, Iran has been targeting U.S. military bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain with ballistic missiles. Since the hostilities began, over 500 U.S. service members and more than 1,000 civilians have been killed. A particularly tragic incident occurred in the city of Minab, where a strike on a school resulted in the deaths of 171 schoolgirls.

The conflict is rapidly spreading across the region:

  • Lebanon: Increased activity from the Hezbollah group.
  • Trade Routes: Vital shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf have been effectively blocked.
  • Border Security: Growing tensions and security concerns are emerging along the borders of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
