Joe Kent, director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, resigned from his position, citing his opposition to military actions in Iran.

In a letter to US President Donald Trump, Kent stated that he does not support military operations in Iran, arguing that Iran does not pose a direct threat to the United States. He also suggested that the conflict was influenced by the Israeli lobby.

In response, President Donald Trump called Kent a "good guy" but said he was "weak on security matters." Trump also reiterated his stance that there is a threat from Iran.
