The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with competent authorities, has officially released the guidelines for organizing graduation events for the 2025-2026 academic year. According to this year's regulations, a number of strict restrictions have been introduced to ensure the safety of graduates and maintain public order.
According to the official statement of the ministry, graduation celebrations are not permitted outside of educational institutions. Specifically, hosting events in restaurants, cafes, banquet halls, recreation centers, or outdoor nature spots is strictly prohibited. The ceremonies for awarding certificates and diplomas will take place exclusively within the walls of the educational institutions.
Furthermore, the department reminded that raising funds from parents for school administrations or teachers and demanding expensive gifts is legally prohibited.
"The joint order is aimed at ensuring safety and public order during graduation events, as well as strengthening the 'Law and Order' ideology within educational organizations," representatives of the Ministry of Education clarified.
According to official data, more than 3.9 million students will complete the school year nationwide. Among them, the number of 11th-grade graduates exceeds 215,000. Currently, over 18,000 11th-grade students and over 31,000 9th-grade students are candidates for honors certificates.
On May 25 of this year, a unified classroom hour themed "Bilimim — Otanymat!" (My Knowledge — to My Motherland!) will be held in all schools across Kazakhstan. As part of this event, the academic year will be concluded, and students will be presented with recommended reading lists for the summer period.
