Over 40 Christmas Trees to Be Lit Simultaneously in Astana

This year, New Year celebrations in Astana will take place in a unified fairy-tale style called “Ertegi Fest”, the city administration reports. The capital will be filled with lights, illuminations, and a festive atmosphere.

On December 19 at 18:00, more than 40 Christmas trees will be lit simultaneously across six districts of the city. From 17:30, concerts and entertainment programs will begin at the main venues.

Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy ice rinks, slides, photo zones, small architectural installations, and interactive activities for children. Some locations will also feature drone shows and fireworks.

Major festive areas are located in the Nura, Almaty, Yesil, Sarayshyk, Saryarka, and Baikonur districts. The main Christmas trees will be installed at the EXPO area, near Astana Arena, in the Botanical Garden, at the Kazakh Eli Monument square, central parks, and residential neighborhoods.

In each district, festive decorations, light installations, and winter recreation areas will be opened in phases.
