Otbasy Bank Suspends Pension Fund Withdrawals for Medical Treatment

Starting Monday, January 12, Otbasy Bank has officially stopped accepting new applications for the use of lump-sum pension payments for medical purposes.

The Ministry of Health, along with relevant government agencies, is currently updating the regulations for utilizing these funds. The primary goal is to ensure that pension savings are used strictly for their intended purposes and to prevent any misuse of funds.

Timeline of Restrictions:

• Autumn 2025: Access to funds for dental services was closed.

• December 2025: Withdrawals for ophthalmology (eye surgery) and plastic surgery were prohibited.

• Current Status: Due to an unprecedented surge in demand for radiosurgical services (such as Gamma Knife treatments and others), the acceptance of applications for all medical categories has been fully suspended.
