Nurbek Oralbay has been crowned the 2026 Asian Boxing Champion, bringing a third gold medal to Kazakhstan's tally at the tournament currently held in Ulaanbaatar, reports the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The 2024 Olympic silver medalist faced Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Yuldoshev in the final of the 85 kg weight category.

The Kazakh boxer took control from the opening minutes, winning the first round with a convincing 5:0 score. Oralbay maintained his superiority throughout the second round, moving steadily toward victory. At the conclusion of the bout, he was declared the winner by unanimous decision of the judges.

The Kazakhstan national team has seen multiple successes during this championship:

• Orazbek Asylkulov (60 kg) and Sabyrzhan Akalykov (75 kg) both secured gold medals, becoming Asian champions.

• Torekhan Sabyrkhan (70 kg) claimed a silver medal after a hard-fought final match.

The women's squad also delivered an impressive performance, earning two golds and one silver:

• Nadezhda Ryabets (80 kg) and Dina Islambekova (80+ kg) both won gold medals.

• Bakhyt Seidish (70 kg) earned a silver medal for her second-place finish.
