The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) issued an official statement following an extraordinary meeting held on Sunday concerning Iran’s attacks on several regional states. During the video conference, participants discussed the consequences of strikes directed by Iran against the territories of the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.

Council members emphasized that the security of member states is an indivisible whole, asserting that any aggression against one member country is considered an attack on all members under the GCC Charter. Furthermore, the Ministerial Council stated that, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, they maintain their legitimate right to collective self-defense to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability, which includes the right to respond appropriately to aggression.

The statement noted that Iran continues its strikes despite numerous diplomatic efforts by member states aimed at preventing escalation. Consequently, the Council demanded an immediate end to the strikes to restore regional peace and stability, while reaffirming that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only options for resolving the current crisis. Amidst these escalating tensions, the United Arab Emirates has already closed its embassy in Tehran and recalled its entire diplomatic corps.
