The influx of foreign patients coming to Kazakhstan's medical institutions has significantly increased, reaching 80,000 people by the end of 2025. In response to this high demand, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan are jointly developing a special "Roadmap" for the development of medical tourism for 2026–2028.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Tourism, ten leading medical organizations in the country currently hold international JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation. This is considered one of the most prestigious and highest quality standards in the global healthcare system.

The new strategic document includes a comprehensive set of measures aimed at promoting Kazakhstani medical services in foreign markets, improving sectoral infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and expanding international cooperation.

According to forecasts by ministry experts, the systematic development of this sector will not only increase the export of medical services but also attract additional investment into the industry, create new jobs, and further strengthen Kazakhstan's international image.

As a reminder, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously instructed the Ministry of Healthcare to develop agreements with neighboring countries and to actively develop international cooperation, the exchange of experience, and the transfer of advanced medical technologies in the country.
