According to the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, state-of-the-art equipment has been delivered to the Academician N.D. Batpenov National Scientific Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics in Astana.

MISSO is a "smart surgical assistant" that utilizes artificial intelligence algorithms for planning and conducting surgeries. It helps doctors perform surgical interventions with high precision, reduces the risk of complications, and ensures unified standards of treatment, particularly during joint replacement (endoprosthetics).

The handover ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan, Silas Thangal. He highlighted the strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and India in the field of medical technology and expressed readiness for further exchange of experience.

"The implementation of the MISSO system will improve the accuracy of surgical interventions and expand the capabilities of high-tech orthopedic care," said Olzhas Bekarisov, Director of the National Scientific Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics.

In Kazakhstan, approximately 18,000 joint replacement surgeries are performed annually; however, the actual demand exceeds 120,000 procedures.
