Ministry of Education Introduces New School Enrollment Rules in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, has approved new regulations regarding the deadlines for submitting applications and enrolling children into the first grade for 2026. According to the joint order, the enrollment process this year will be conducted within a special pilot project framework, scheduled to run from May 27 to August 31.

According to the Minister of Education, Zhuldyz Suleimenova, the application period, which previously commenced on April 1, has been moved to May 27 this year. Under the newly introduced changes, children who have completed pre-school preparatory classes and wish to continue their education at the same school will be automatically enrolled into the first grade based on their parents' request. However, if a transfer to a different educational institution is intended, documents must be submitted through the standard general procedure.

To improve the efficiency of the digital platform during periods of high traffic, an automatic "Waiting Room" redirection function has been integrated. This feature is designed to monitor the electronic queue sequence and prevent system overloads or failures. As soon as a user's turn arrives, the system automatically redirects them back to the main service page to complete the application process.
