Ministry of Education Approves Dates for Spring Holidays and End of Academic Year

The longest academic period in Kazakhstan's schools, the third quarter, is nearing its end. This quarter, considered the most challenging of the school year, will conclude on March 19. For students, spring holidays will begin on March 20 and last until March 29 inclusive, totaling 11 calendar days.

This vacation period coincides with one of the country's major celebrations - the Nauryz holiday. Additionally, due to the shift of holidays in honor of International Women's Day, schoolchildren will also have an extra day off on March 9.
Despite the start of the first month of spring, severe frosts persist in several regions of the country. Consequently, classes in some schools are being conducted in an online format. However, students must perform their critical assessments - SOR (Summative Assessment for the Unit) and SOCH (Summative Assessment for the Term) - within the school walls in the traditional format.

The final fourth quarter of the year will last for eight academic weeks. The official conclusion of the school year and the "Last Bell" ceremony are traditionally scheduled for May 25.
