A new Sectoral Agreement for 2026–2028 has been signed in Kazakhstan to protect the rights of medical workers. The primary goal of the document is to retain specialists and modernize working conditions in line with contemporary standards.

"The Right to Disconnect": Doctors now have the official right not to respond to work chats outside of their scheduled working hours. Work in messengers is now recognized as part of the labor process, and additional pay will be provided for it. While the use of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine has been approved, the doctor remains responsible for the final medical decision. For new graduates, the probationary period in the first year has been abolished, and a mandatory mentorship program has been established.

Furthermore, mechanisms for preventing aggression against doctors and resolving labor disputes out of court have been strengthened.

If a specific hospital does not have an individual collective bargaining agreement, the norms of this Sectoral Agreement will apply directly and compulsorily.
