The Kazakhstan Automobile Union has issued a formal outlook regarding vehicle pricing, warning consumers of a projected 3% to 4% price increase for new cars effective January 1, 2026.

The upcoming price adjustment will not affect the entire market equally. According to industry analysts, the hike is targeted exclusively at imported vehicles. In a strategic move to support the local economy, cars assembled within Kazakhstan are expected to maintain their current price points, creating a significant price gap between foreign and domestic options.

The price hike comes amid a broader fiscal shift as the national Value Added Tax (VAT) is set to rise from 12% to 16%. While this tax burden usually passes directly to the consumer, domestic manufacturers are reportedly taking aggressive measures to absorb these costs.
