March Holidays 2026: Kazakhstanis to Enjoy Five-Day Break for Nauryz

In March 2026, Kazakhstanis can look forward to a series of extended breaks in celebration of International Women’s Day and Nauryz Meiramy. According to the official holiday calendar, the month will feature several additional days off as public holidays falling on weekends are legally transferred to subsequent weekdays to ensure citizens receive their full rest periods.

The first long weekend arrives with International Women’s Day. Since March 8 falls on a Sunday, the day off has been moved to Monday, March 9. Including the regular weekend, this creates a three-day break from March 7 to March 9.

The most significant break occurs during the Nauryz celebrations. The official holiday period for Nauryz lasts three days, but in 2026, two of those days - March 21 and 22 - fall on a Saturday and Sunday. In accordance with national labor laws, these rest days are shifted to March 23, 24, and 25. Consequently, the country will observe five consecutive days of rest, starting from Saturday, March 21, through Wednesday, March 25. This extended period provides ample opportunity for citizens to participate in traditional festivities and family gatherings across the country.
