On January 20, U.S. President Donald Trump shared screenshots on his social media platform, Truth Social, of messages he purportedly received from French President Emmanuel Macron. According to the correspondence, the French leader has proposed hosting an expanded "Group of Seven" (G7) meeting in Paris this coming Thursday.
The proposed summit would reportedly include leaders from Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, and Syria, moving beyond the traditional G7 format.

In the messages, Macron noted his readiness to organize the summit in the afternoon following events in Davos. He also expressed a desire to hold a private luncheon with Trump before the U.S. President returns to America.
Furthermore, Macron emphasized that France and the United States hold a unified position regarding Syria and Iran. However, the French leader also expressed bewilderment concerning Trump's recent actions or statements regarding Greenland.
