According to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK), this year, the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr) falls on the night between March 16 and March 17.

In Islamic tradition, it is believed that on this night, the Angel Jibril (Gabriel) descended to earth and revealed the first verses of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.

Muslims spend this night in worship, offering prayers and seeking forgiveness for their sins. According to religious texts, the reward for worship performed on Laylat al-Qadr is equivalent to that of one thousand months of worship.

Recommended Actions for the Night:

  • Reading the Quran and performing additional (Nawafil) prayers.
  • Offering sincere prayers to Allah for guidance and mercy.
  • Helping those in need and performing acts of kindness.
  • Mosques across Kazakhstan will host congregational prayers, night vigils (Tahajjud), and religious sermons.

It is also emphasized that before the Night of Power arrives, people should strive to forgive one another, let go of past grievances, and seek reconciliation.

The Night of Power begins at sunset and lasts until dawn. It is often described as a night of exceptional peace and tranquility, followed by a sunrise with a soft, gentle light.
