KTZ Adds Extra Train Seats Due to Severe Weather

Kazakhstan’s national rail operator, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), has arranged additional passenger seats on several routes due to adverse weather conditions and the temporary closure of some highways, the company’s press service reported.

According to KTZ, extra transport services have been organized to accommodate passengers traveling to Astana from Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, Ereymentau, Shiderti, Kokshetau, and the Burabay resort area. Additional seats are being provided on trains operating along these routes.

On December 16, passenger boarding will be available on the following trains:

• No. 7502 Astana – Pavlodar (boarding at Ereymentau station);
• No. 139 Pavlodar – Presnogorkovskaya (boarding at Ereymentau station);
• No. 6830 Kokshetau – Astana (boarding at Kokshetau and Burabay Resort stations);
• No. 7508 Kokshetau – Astana Nurly Zhol (boarding at Kokshetau and Burabay Resort stations);
• No. 045Ts Pavlodar – Turkistan (boarding at Ekibastuz and Shiderti stations).

The national carrier emphasized that passenger transportation is under heightened control during severe weather conditions.

KTZ also urged citizens to observe safety measures and, if possible, temporarily refrain from long-distance travel.
