Kazakhstani students from grades 7 to 11 will be required to attend an elective course on volunteering.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Serik Zhumangarin, announced the planned innovation in response to an inquiry from Mazhilis deputies. This measure will be integrated into the new Volunteering Development Concept 2030, which is currently under development.

In parallel, authorities are addressing the issue of life and health insurance for volunteers engaged in high-risk activities, such as emergency response, search and rescue operations, and other hazardous forms of service.

Furthermore, students will now be issued a Digital Volunteer Passport, a concept proposed by President Tokayev. This digital document will record all of a citizen's volunteer activities, which can then be presented to potential employers or educational institutions.

It is noted that volunteer experience will serve as an additional criterion in the competitive selection process for university applicants.
