Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flag carrier, has extended the suspension of its flights to Dubai through May 31, 2026, inclusive. This update was confirmed by the airline's press service.

Passengers with tickets for canceled flights are offered the following alternatives:

• Full Refund: A total refund of the ticket price without any penalties or cancellation fees.

• Free Rebooking: Complimentary rebooking in the same service class for flights departing up to and including July 31, 2026.

• Rerouting: Free route changes to other Air Astana flights departing by July 31, 2026 (passengers must cover any difference in fares and airport taxes).

Please note that if a ticket was previously rebooked with a penalty, the deducted amount is non-refundable.

Earlier, the low-cost carrier FlyArystan also announced the cancellation of its Aktau – Dubai – Aktau route until August 29, 2026.

These measures follow a February 28 directive from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, which imposed a complete ban on flights over or near the airspace of Iran, Israel, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon until further notice. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised citizens to avoid planning trips to Middle Eastern countries due to security concerns.

As of March 27, Egypt has been removed from the list of countries not recommended for travel.
