Kazakhstan Tourism Minister Announces Commercialization of FC Astana

Astana is set to be transferred into private ownership, as announced by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erbol Myrzabosynov, during a government briefing.

According to the Minister, an investor for the capital’s club has already been secured. However, their identity will not be disclosed until all legal procedures are fully completed.

"FC Astana is a club with its own history, significant achievements, and international recognition. Until now, it has been funded through the unified operator, Sport Qory. This year, we plan to commercialize the club. Work in this direction is actively underway, and an investor is in place," said Erbol Myrzabosynov.

The Minister also noted that five football clubs in Kazakhstan have already been privatized. Efforts to attract investors for the remaining seven clubs are ongoing.

"We are looking for investors who can ensure the sustainable development of these clubs," the Minister added.
