The Ministry of National Economy has announced significant changes to the requirements for taxi service providers in Kazakhstan.

According to the new regulations, before commencing operations, taxi carriers must submit a formal notification to local executive authorities. This document must now mandatory include the vehicle's make, state registration plate number, and year of manufacture.

The Ministry pointed out that under the previous system, carriers were not linked to specific vehicles, which made it difficult to identify responsible parties in the event of road accidents.

According to the department, the new requirement will allow for the rapid identification of taxi drivers responsible for passenger safety and will help reduce the number of illegal carriers.

Furthermore, the updated reporting form allows for data correction in the event of fleet changes. This means carriers can update their information whenever they replace a vehicle or add a new one to their fleet.
