The Chairman of the Board of "KazAutoZhol," Darkhan Imanashev, has announced plans to implement toll systems on six additional highway sections across the country. This expansion is part of the government's ongoing initiative to modernize the nation's transport infrastructure and ensure sustainable maintenance of republican highways.

Currently, Kazakhstan’s toll network comprises 26 sections covering approximately 4,900 kilometers. By the conclusion of the 2024–2026 development phase, the following routes are scheduled to transition to toll-based systems:

  • Karaganda – Balkhash – Burylbaital (554.6 km)
  • Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk (773 km)
  • Atyrau – Astrakhan (277 km)
  • Burylbaital – Kurty (226.4 km)
  • Aktobe – Kandyagash – Makat (89 km)
  • Merke – Shu – Burylbaital (78 km)

Furthermore, the Ministry of Transport recently published draft regulations proposing tolls for the Balkhash – Burylbaital stretch, which spans 645 kilometers.

To alleviate the financial burden on frequent travelers, "KazAutoZhol" confirmed that special payment structures will be available for owners of passenger vehicles. Drivers will have the option to purchase:

  • Monthly Subscriptions
  • Annual Passes

"The introduction of tolling on these reconstructed sections allows for the self-sufficiency of the roads, ensuring they remain in high-quality condition without relying solely on the state budget," officials noted.
