In Kazakhstan, students can successfully pass the Unified National Testing (UNT) without attending tutors or additional courses, according to Nauzhan Didarbekova, Deputy Director of the National Testing Center.

She explained that the test questions are developed within the framework of the state compulsory education standard.

“All questions that appear in the UNT are developed based on the state compulsory education standard and the textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education,” Didarbekova said at a briefing held by the Astana Communications Service.

Additionally, in January, the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education reported that as part of the UNT transformation, open-ended questions may be introduced. Changes in the test format are planned so that high school graduates do not face additional workload.

This development allows students to prepare using only the school curriculum and reduces dependence on extra tutoring services.
