According to Kazhydromet, Kazakhstan will experience a sharp decline in temperatures in the coming days. The country's weather will be influenced by a powerful anticyclone arriving from the Novaya Zemlya regions.

  •  North and East: Nighttime temperatures between -30°C and -40°C;
  • South: Between -5°C and -13°C;
  • Southeast: Between -8°C and -17°C;
  • Mountainous areas: Dropping as low as -20°C to -25°C.

Key Weather Warnings:

  • January 15–16: Heavy snow and blizzards are expected in the southern regions. This will lead to reduced visibility on roads and potential icy conditions (black ice).
  • January 16–17: The southeastern regions will face snowstorms with precipitation levels exceeding the monthly norm.

Additionally, dense fog and freezing rain leading to icy road surfaces are anticipated.

Residents are strongly advised to avoid long-distance travel during these extreme cold spells and to strictly follow all safety precautions.
