The aviation partnership between Kazakhstan and China has reached a major milestone. Following high-level negotiations in Beijing, both nations have agreed to significantly increase the frequency of regular passenger flights, bringing the total to 152 per week. This strategic expansion marks a new era in air travel between the two countries.

Under the updated agreement, the number of Chinese cities connected to Kazakhstan by direct flights has been expanded to 11, now including the major industrial and logistics hub of Chongqing. Furthermore, authorities are exploring the launch of a direct route between Astana and Shanghai and are planning the creation of a third international air corridor. These initiatives are designed to improve airspace capacity, optimize flight paths, and enhance convenience for passengers.

The discussions also addressed critical operational aspects, such as the development of aviation search and rescue services and the allocation of additional airport slots for Kazakh carriers within China. These agreements underscore the strengthening strategic partnership and the commitment to fostering long-term cooperation in the aviation sector.
