Kazakh Language Added to Google’s Gemini AI

Google has launched its Gemini artificial intelligence model with support for the Kazakh language, according to the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.

Kazakh is among 23 new languages added as part of the third-generation Gemini update. This allows users in Kazakhstan to interact with the AI assistant in their native language alongside the world’s major languages.

“Users in Kazakhstan now have access to Gemini’s capabilities in their native language on par with the largest global languages,” the ministry said.

Gemini is a personal AI assistant integrated into the Google ecosystem. It helps with writing texts, searching for information, planning tasks, creating images, and other daily requests, functioning as a smart chatbot powered by generative AI.

Currently, the Gemini interface in Kazakh is available on the web version of the service. Users can change the language in their account settings. Support for the Kazakh language in mobile apps for Android and iOS, as well as the launch of the live communication mode Gemini Live, will be added later.

Google also noted that the launch of the Kazakh version coincides with Kazakhstan’s Independence Day and is part of a broader program to develop artificial intelligence in the country.

Previously, Google has consistently expanded language support for its AI services, including Gemini, as part of global generative model updates.
