Iran has officially added Iraq to the list of nations permitted to navigate the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions. This development was reported by Bloomberg, citing Iranian official sources.

With this move, Iraq joins the ranks of Iran’s closest strategic partners.

"Our brother, Iraq, is now exempt from all restrictions previously imposed in the Strait of Hormuz," the Iranian statement declared.

Since the onset of regional tensions, Iran has maintained a selective navigation regime through the Strait. While the strategic waterway remains closed to "hostile" states, it remains accessible to allies and key partners.

According to the Tasnim News Agency, the list of nations granted passage rights currently includes Russia, China, India, and Pakistan. Iraq is the latest addition to this group. Conversely, the United States, European Union member states, and their allies remain barred from utilizing this vital maritime route.
