The Burger King Kazakhstan restaurant chain has released the results of its internal investigation regarding the dismissal of an employee, Alibek Karatay, who has been diagnosed with autism. According to the company, managers Sergey and Anastasia have been terminated.

According to official information, the individuals in question no longer work for the company. The internal investigation was launched after Alibek’s mother, Zhanat Karatay, filed a complaint alleging that her son had been pressured and forced to resign.

“We oppose any form of discrimination and disrespect. We are ready to establish a dialogue with the employee’s family,” the company said in a statement.

The incident has not been limited to labor rights issues. On social media, other restaurant employees began speaking out about the internal work environment. Some posts claimed that the dismissed managers had published offensive remarks and content about Kazakhstan and Kazakhs in work-related chat groups.

At present, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, along with the company’s internal compliance service, is reviewing the situation. The company stated that it has contacted Alibek’s family and intends to resolve the issues that have arisen.

Earlier, the Ministry of Labor reported that it had taken the case under special supervision.
