The Government of India has officially announced a new decision to grant free visas to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan for stays of up to 30 days. This update, confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote tourism between the two nations.

The new policy applies not only to traditional tourist visits but also covers medical visas and visas for medical attendants accompanying patients. Travelers can obtain these visas through the e-Visa online system or by applying in person at Indian diplomatic missions in Astana, Almaty, or other representative offices abroad.

This strategic move follows a long-standing 14-day visa-free entry policy for Indian citizens visiting Kazakhstan. By providing more favorable travel conditions for Kazakhstani nationals, both governments expect a significant boost in tourism and people-to-people exchanges. Indian officials recently noted a growing interest in the region, with approximately 250,000 Indian citizens visiting Kazakhstan in 2025 alone. The introduction of free 30-day visas for Kazakhstanis is viewed as a major step toward reciprocal convenience and deeper cultural ties.
