"The Iranian soccer team is eligible to participate in the World Cup, but I truly believe their presence there is inappropriate, for the sake of their own lives and safety," Trump stated in a post on the Truth Social platform.

This statement follows remarks made by Iran’s Sports Minister, Ahmad Donyamali, who suggested that the national team might not attend the tournament. Should this be officially confirmed, it would necessitate a change in Group G, which currently includes Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.
