The inaugural demonstration flight of an electric air taxi took place in Astana, co-organized by the Kazakhstani private enterprise "Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd." and its Chinese partner "eVTOL AutoFlight." The showcase event was hosted on the grounds of the "Kazanat" hippodrome.

The trial utilized the "eVTOL AutoFlight Prosperity" aircraft, designed to accommodate one pilot and up to five passengers. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h, the vehicle boasts an operational range of 200 kilometers. To strictly adhere to safety standards, the initial demonstration flight was conducted without passengers on board.

"The demonstration flight in Astana is not an isolated event, but a key component of a systematic initiative to implement urban air mobility across Kazakhstan. Such trials enable us to consistently prepare the industry for the practical deployment of cutting-edge technologies," stated Sergey Khegay, CEO of "Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd."

Furthermore, this technology has been integrated into the special legal framework of the newly planned city of Alatau. Under the Constitutional Law that came into force on July 1, 2026, the city has been designated as the primary testing ground for innovative transportation. Since Alatau is being built from the ground up, the infrastructure required for air taxis and uncrewed aerial vehicles is already being incorporated directly into the master urban design phase.

Following the demonstration, the "AutoFlight Prosperity" aircraft is set to become one of the central exhibits at the "Games of the Future 2026" international tournament in Astana. The vehicle will be displayed to the public at an open-air exhibition in front of the "Barys Arena" complex on July 29 and 30.
