Kazakhstan spent approximately $4 million to evacuate its citizens during the conflict in the Middle East. This was announced by Nurlan Sauranbayev during a briefing at the Government.
According to him, the evacuation was carried out in several stages. Initially, around 4,000 people were evacuated, and later that number exceeded 10,000.
The Minister stated that a portion of the allocated funds was used to cover airline expenses, manage insurance risks, and transport citizens from Dubai to safe zones.
Earlier, in the beginning of March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 10,275 Kazakhstani citizens had been evacuated due to the situation in the Middle East.
The repatriation of citizens lasted for two weeks and was primarily carried out through Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, people from Iran were brought back via Armenia and Turkmenistan.
