Kazakhstan has joined the Board of Peace without making any financial contribution, the Presidential Press Serviceannounced.

According to official information, the $1 billion voluntary contribution mentioned in the Board’s charter is not a mandatory requirement for membership. Whether a country makes this payment is entirely at its own discretion.

The Presidential Office explained that if a country pays the contribution within the first year, it may be eligible to extend its membership beyond the standard three-year term. However, not paying the contribution does not prevent entryinto the Board.

“A sovereign decision by the state is sufficient for membership in the Board of Peace. Membership lasts three years from the date of acceptance,” the official statement said.

Thus, Kazakhstan joined the Board without additional financial obligations, while fully complying with the rules outlined in the charter.
