The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has unveiled a comprehensive development and safety plan for the Alakol resort area ahead of the summer season. The initiative focuses on strengthening security infrastructure, upgrading utility networks, and enhancing transportation accessibility for tourists.

1. Enhanced Security and Emergency Response

To ensure the safety of vacationers, 137 video surveillance cameras will be installed along the shoreline. Water safety will be monitored by a dedicated team of over 100 rescuers and military personnel, supported by specialized patrol boats. Additionally, construction is underway for a new fire station valued at 1.4 billion tenge, while police presence and road signage will be increased to maintain public order.

2. Improved Transport Accessibility

Travel to the lake is becoming more accessible through government support:

• Aviation: Subsidized flights from Astana and Almaty will continue. Authorities are also considering opening new air routes from Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Pavlodar.

• Railway: A total of 11 train routes will connect various regions of Kazakhstan directly to the Alakol shore, providing a reliable alternative for long-distance travelers.

3. Massive Infrastructure Investment

Significant financial resources have been allocated to modernize the resort’s aging engineering networks:

• Shoreline Reinforcement: 15.2 billion tenge.

• Power Grid Modernization: Approximately 8 billion tenge.

Furthermore, ongoing projects are focused on developing sewage systems and wastewater treatment facilities to meet modern environmental standards.

4. Strict Sanitary Oversight

Recent inspections of recreation centers identified 81 violations of sanitary and safety regulations. The Ministry is actively supporting legislative changes to formally define "seasonal business" and increase the legal responsibility of entrepreneurs to maintain high service standards.

5. Legislative Oversight

Member of Parliament Ekaterina Smolyakova emphasized that the primary goal is not merely reporting figures, but creating a truly safe and comfortable environment for citizens. All preparatory work remains under the strict supervision of Parliament to ensure that infrastructure and safety promises are met before the peak season begins.
