He is a true intellectual": Lukashenko Praises Tokayev’s Mastery of the Chinese Language

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, highly praised the knowledge of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, holding him up as an example during the appointment of a new head for the "Great Stone" Belarus-China Industrial Park. During the meeting, the newly appointed official mentioned that while he knows China well, learning the language has been difficult due to its extreme complexity.

Lukashenko responded by stating that mastering the Chinese language is possible for anyone, citing the professional expertise and vast experience of the President of Kazakhstan as undeniable proof.

Lukashenko reminded those present that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously served in the diplomatic field as a translator and is fluent in Chinese.

"Look at the President of Kazakhstan, Tokayev—he worked as a translator. He knows the Chinese language perfectly. A truly smart man. He isn’t a god, yet he learned it, didn't he!" the Belarusian leader remarked.

According to Lukashenko, Tokayev mastered the language not through "divine talent," but through hard work and practical experience.

Furthermore, Alexander Lukashenko recalled a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to him, the Chinese leader said the most important principle in learning the language is not to be afraid of it. Lukashenko's comments once again highlighted President Tokayev's high intellectual reputation on the international stage.
