Full List of Astana LRT Stations Officially Released

According to data from the Astana Geoportal, the route and station list for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project extending to the old railway station have been finalized. The new line spans 8 kilometers and includes 9 planned stops.

In accordance with the project documentation, the line will pass through the following key landmarks:

• Diagnostic Center

• "Saryarka" Shopping and Entertainment Center

• "Keruen City" Shopping Mall

• Clock Square (Central Park area)

• K. Munaitpasov Stadium

• Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan

• Kazakh National University of Arts

• S. Seifullin Agrotechnical University

• Astana Old Railway Station

The project is currently nearing its final stages of implementation. A total of 18 trains are planned to service the line. The transport will reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h, with a scheduled interval of 3.5 minutes between trains.

Experts estimate that the LRT system will double the speed of passenger travel within the city compared to other modes of transport. Each train set is capable of carrying up to 600 passengers at a time.

Key stations, including "Abu Dhabi Plaza," Botanical Garden, "Astana Arena," and the International Airport, are already in high states of readiness. Landscaping and paving work around the stations, including the improvement of pedestrian paths, are expected to be completed by the end of this summer.

Furthermore, there are plans to extend the LRT line to the Kosshy settlement by 2027.
