Four Railway Workers Killed in Karaganda Train Accident

In Karaganda Region, a freight train struck and killed four railway workers. The tragic incident occurred on December 10 at around 17:15 on the railway section between Sheshenkara and Karazhangyl.

According to the national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the track maintenance team at Saryshagan Station was performing scheduled rail replacement work. At that time, a moving freight train entered the area where the workers were present. Although the train driver activated the braking system immediately, the collision could not be prevented.

As a result of the accident, four employees died at the scene.

A special commission has been established to investigate the cause of the incident, and inspections have begun.

“The commission immediately proceeded to the accident site. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy expresses condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased,” the company said in a statement.

The company also confirmed that all necessary support will be provided to the families of the victims.
