A brawl erupted in the Turkish parliament during a session discussing the state budget for 2026, Hurriyet reported.

The altercation began with a verbal dispute between Murat Emir, Deputy Chair of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) parliamentary group, and Mustafa Varank, a lawmaker from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) representing Bursa. The heated exchange quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with other deputies joining the scuffle.

The fight was stopped after fellow lawmakers intervened. Despite the incident, the parliamentary session continued, and the draft laws on the 2026 central government budget and the 2024 final accounts were approved.
