The management of FC Copenhagen has disclosed that goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski has been subjected to threats following a significant error during the fifth-round UEFA Champions League fixture against Almaty’s Kairat. The Croatian goalkeeper’s misjudgment facilitated a goal by Dastan Satpaev, marking his first in the competition.

The encounter, hosted at Parken Stadium, saw Copenhagen leading 3-0 when, on the 81st minute, Kotarski’s unsuccessful intervention enabled Kairat to reduce the score. Although Copenhagen ultimately secured a 3-2 victory, the incident prompted intense scrutiny of the goalkeeper’s performance, which subsequently escalated into hostile social media communications.

According to official statements from the club, Kotarski received multiple abusive messages, some containing explicit threats of violence directed not only at him but also at members of his family, including his pregnant spouse. FC Copenhagen categorically condemned such conduct as “entirely unacceptable” and affirmed that comprehensive support is being extended to the athlete.

The matter has garnered significant attention within Denmark. Club officials emphasized that while professional critique is inherent in competitive sports, threats to personal safety and harassment remain impermissible under all circumstances.
