The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has shared an update on the ongoing efforts to liberalize the visa policy for European destinations.

According to the Ministry, the first round of official negotiations on simplifying visa issuance procedures and readmission agreements took place in Brussels in December 2025. During these talks, both parties reached a mutual understanding on the core aspects of the draft agreements and identified key priorities. The next stage of consultations is scheduled to take place soon in Astana.

Currently, Kazakhstan has established visa-free regimes with 39 countries and continues to work systematically toward expanding international business and migration ties. Furthermore, as a result of the country's "open door" policy, citizens from 87 nations can visit Kazakhstan without a visa. Despite the European Union tightening migration rules for third countries, the Ministry is actively pursuing diplomatic efforts to reduce visa barriers for Kazakhstani citizens.
