Elena Rybakina Reaches US Open Final

Kazakhstani tennis star Elena Rybakina has advanced to the final of the US Open in the United States. She defeated American Coco Gauff in a three-set semifinal battle.

After dropping the opening set 3-6, Rybakina rallied to take the next two sets 6-4, 6-4. The Kazakhstani player will now face Belarus's Aryna Sabalenka for the championship title.

This marks Rybakina’s first appearance in the US Open final. She previously won Grand Slam titles at Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

Regardless of the final's outcome, Rybakina will claim the world No. 1 ranking for the first time in next week's updated standings, displacing the current leader, Sabalenka, to second place.

The US Open final will take place on Saturday, September 12.
