Elena Rybakina Advances to the Semi-Finals of the WTA 1000 Tournament in Miami

Kazakh tennis star and world No. 2, Elena Rybakina, has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the prestigious Miami Open 2026 (WTA 1000) currently held in the United States.

According to the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, Rybakina faced American representative Jessica Pegula in the quarter-final match. In a dominant performance lasting just over an hour, Rybakina defeated her opponent with a decisive score of 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the final four.

During her impressive run at the tournament, Rybakina achieved the following results:

• Round of 16: Defeated Australia’s Taylah Gibson 6-2, 6-3;

• Round of 32: Overcame fellow Kazakhstani Yulia Putintseva 6-3, 6-3;

• Early Rounds: Bested Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk 6-3, 6-4.

It is worth noting that following her successful performance at Indian Wells, Elena Rybakina officially climbed to the world No. 2 spot in the WTA rankings. The total prize pool for the Miami Open 2026 stands at $9,415,725. The singles champion will earn $1,151,380 and receive 1,000 ranking points.
