Dimash Kudaibergen Named UN Goodwill Ambassador

World-renowned Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a United Nations agency. The organization announced the news officially.

According to the IOM, Dimash has long used his art and humanitarian efforts to draw attention to the struggles of people affected by various crises.

During the ceremony, Dimash said he considers his new mission a great responsibility and will continue to promote issues such as safe migration, inclusion, and mutual support. He also expressed his willingness to support the IOM’s emergency response and fundraising initiatives.

The singer thanked his fans as well, acknowledging their support for humanitarian projects carried out during his tours.

In 2024, Dimash became a regional goodwill ambassador and has since taken part in several humanitarian campaigns related to migration, human trafficking, and the protection of vulnerable communities. In addition, during UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ visit to Kazakhstan, Dimash proposed the idea of advancing humanitarian initiatives through art.

On December 8, at a council meeting, Dimash performed S.O.S d’un terrien en détresse for the delegations of UN member states. IOM Director General Amy Pope highlighted his significant contribution to humanitarian causes.
