Winter Storm: 44,000 Emergency Workers Placed on High Alert

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Kazakhstan has urged residents to stay cautious in the coming days due to extreme cold, snowstorms, and icy conditions, reports Kursive.kz. The ministry advises people to avoid long trips during adverse weather and for rural residents to refrain from extended walks.

According to the MES press service, walking on thin ice during the winter season is dangerous, so strict safety measures should be observed when visiting water bodies.

The ministry is issuing storm warnings via SMS, social media, and official websites. In preparation for emergencies, over 44,000 personnel and 14,000 units of equipment have been mobilized. Across the regions, 1,681 warming centers and 40 roadside medical-rescue points will operate as heated shelters for drivers.

The winter in Kazakhstan will generally be warm and moderate, but sudden weather changes are expected. Average temperatures are expected to remain near normal, and precipitation levels should stay within the usual range.
