Bektenov Orders Cheap Beef Sales

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov highlighted that rising food prices are the main driver of inflation in the country and instructed to maintain stable prices for meat and meat products.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, inflation has recently increased in the Ulytau, Akmola, and Atyrau regions.

“Regional governors have all the necessary tools to stabilize food prices. This work needs to be intensified,” Bektenov said during a government meeting.

The Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry of Trade to expand the list of socially significant food items and to implement the practice used in Astana of selling affordable beef through large retail chains in other regions.
